The Diaries of Kafka in Love:
Places in the Snow:
I love you so much sometimes. It's all I have to say, and I sit in boredom. Remember last night in the snow? The snow-draped shrubs formed the arch, bent by the weight of ice and death. I remember saying, "let's taunt the universe with unwavering certainty that our dreams will come true." For a second, there was a reason to live on the other side of what we knew.
You shivered in discomfort, reminding me that good never comes without bad.
"Is it that simple?"
"We'll transcend god!" You said.
We laughed like devils and surrendered to each other to the feeling of guilt. Oh my god, what we did! Toyed with the idea and disregarded the universe.
The snow was warmer than ever. The sky was a silver-blue, so pale, a miracle.
"Is it so bad to believe something?"
Our sober eyes met, and you tightened your grasp around my hand and lay there, blood beginning to flow with the company. Out of our peace, you dragged me through it, and we stood on the other side, taking the greatest breaths. Kafka, we became dreamers, believers, and all things we hated in ourselves.
